in this game. the story revolves around a famous scientist known as cypher steele but he was deported from earth due to creating a dangerous AI. for his punishment he was sealed shut in a prison ship never to return back to earth again. Soon after waking up from along amount of time later he has found out that the ship has been abandoned and notices all the crews are all dead. Once cypher steele begins to inspect around the area he has noticed that most of his crews are all infected with a fungus disease. In order to find out if any survivors remain, Cypher Steele then makes the decision to explore the remainder of the ship. In the process, he discovers an odd-looking gadget with a large red button and a hole for an unidentified object fastened to one of the bodies. He is brought to a new world where the deadly fungus has taken over everything after hitting the button. He stays in this dimension too long, allowing the fungus to take over his body, but he escapes before it has a chance to do so. He discovers a similar object later on in the game that lets him reverse gravity. The goal of the game is to use exploration and new area access to get out of the space station and find out what happened before he woke up.
